Club was founded 1960.Quickly found success running two teams. One played in the Warrington league and one in the St.Helens. Notable players were the Kilroy brothers Terry and Jack.They steered the club forward till a new influx of young players arrived in the early 70's.Notibly the Picton brothers Alan,Colin and Barry. They dominated the St.Helens Combination for a decade.They took over a struggling junior football club and offered them a club house and long term visions for their players. Before handing the club over to there off-spring and young locals they had trained to take their place. These were joined by the Halliwell brothers Ste and Stu. They helped steer the club to success in the drink water cup in 2007 Blackbrook are now playing in the premier division of Warrington,while their junior section has secured charter standard status, and will continue to provide Blackbrook with the players of the future. Jack Kilroy is still very much involved with the club as he is now President of Blackbrook F.C. and received a life achievement award from St.Helens district sports council for his service to blackbrook for over 40 years.Alan Picton is treasure of the football club and can still be heard from the touch line with the same passion and commitment in his voice that he showed in his football years before. Barry is secretary and still eats,drinks and breaths Blackbrook. He is still striving to get the best facilities for the club that he can. His son Philip is now 1st team manager. Stuart and Ste Halliwell are now involved in running the second team which most of the young players are introduced to open-age football.Stu is also vice-chairman, to show that the people running the football club have had blackbrook in their family for years.
